Mike Jones solos to a win.
Here's a winter update from the team Web site, www.teamhealthnet.com:

Made in Taiwan: Stage 2 - two near misses and a second second for O'Bee 7 March 2006 After initially devolving into chaos, today's Stage 2 turned out to be yet another good day for the team, but one that again left us just short of a win. The circuit was held just outside of the city of Kaoshung, at Lake Chengching, and consisted of small curving roads and a short hill with 6km per lap. However, one section of the course dropped onto a heavily traveled arterial road that the race organization had not been able to close to traffic.

Made in Taiwan: Tour of Taiwan Stage 1, in which the team finds their footing, and their legs 6 March 2006 Doug Ollerenshaw, Garrett Peltonen, Roman Kilun, Jeff Louder, Kirk O'Bee, soigneur Kim Budde and assistant DS Gustavo Carrillo, are currently racing the 7-day Tour of Taiwan. Doug O is sending dispatches from the other side of the Big Pond

Roulston completes Health Net Presented by Maxxis McLane sweep 5 March 2006 The conditions for the McLane Pacific Foothills Road Race were reminiscent of what you might see at a northern European classic or semi-classic. So maybe it wasn't such a surprise that Hayden Roulston of the Health Net Pro Cycling Team Presented by Maxxis - a rider who finished in the top 10 at Kurne-Brussels-Kurne last spring - won today's 120-mile race.

Jones solos to McLane Criterium win

4 March 2006 Gord Fraser's winning streak at the McLane Pacific Downtown Criterium is over. But that's okay because the man who ended it at four in a row was his Health Net Pro Cycling Team Presented by Maxxis teammate, Mike Jones.

FSN Bay Area segment featuring Sharks' Thornton riding "for" Health Net Presented by Maxxis set to air. 2 March 2006 Fox Sports Net [San Francisco] Bay Area is set to run its segment featuring Scott Thornton of the NHL's San Jose Sharks riding the individual time trial course at the Amgen Tour of California in Health Net Pro Cycling Team Presented by Maxxis kit. See story for airtime schedule.

O'Neill finishes 5th overall; Fraser 6th in California finale 27 February 2006 Nathan O'Neill of the Health Net Pro Cycling Team Presented by Maxxis only had to stay out of trouble in the final stage of the Amgen Tour of California to wrap up his 5th place overall behind eventual race winner Floyd Landis (Phonak).

Team Director Jeff Corbett praised the team's performance after the race: "Our guys went toe-to-toe with eight of the best teams in the world and we held our own," he said. "Nathan finishing 5th overall in this caliber of a field is a very good result."
